"The Islamic Republic would even welcome a self-made famine."
Zagros Rashidi lays out the uncomfortable math:
▪️ North Korea's regime had a popular base. Iran's regime does not.
▪️ Instead, it built a 2–3 million strong hothouse rentier class — and feeds only them.
▪️ A naval blockade works as a time-limited tool. As the MAIN tool, it fails: the regime can supply those 2–3 million through northern, eastern and western borders and let them stand over the corpses of the rest of the nation.
▪️ Worse: it will turn Iranians starving into psychological-war content — exactly as it exploited the innocent children of the Minab school.
The conclusion is simple: any pressure that starves the people and feeds the cronies is a gift to the regime. Pressure must be people-centered.
