۲۵۸۵ سالِ جاری در گاه‌شمار شاهنشاهی است — تقویمی که از بنیان‌گذاری دولت ایران به دست کوروش بزرگ می‌شمارد و در سال ۲۵۳۵ (۱۳۵۵ خورشیدی) تقویم رسمی کشور بود. 2585 is the current year in the Imperial (Shahanshahi) calendar, which counts from the founding of the Iranian state by Cyrus the Great and was Iran's official calendar as of 2535 (1976).

به‌کاربردن آن، خود یک گزاره است: ملت ایران پیش از جمهوری اسلامی وجود داشت و پس از آن نیز وجود خواهد داشت. Using it is itself a statement: the Iranian nation existed before the Islamic Republic, and will exist after it.
