"Let's not define the main problem incorrectly." This nation does not have a mobilization problem — millions come out. This revolution does not have a leadership problem — the people are represented at the scale of a national revolution. This uprising does not have a turnout problem — they show up. So what IS the real question? In a million-strong uprising, one side held the guns, killed the people, and did not fall. What is our answer to THAT? A blunt critique of those who import academic revolution theory without accounting for Iran's actual equations. Society has changed — the analysis hasn't. Thinkers, theorists, civil society, students, the women's movement: focus on the single real obstacle — the regime's monopoly on armed force. Stop inflating the weight of everything else.
