"Iran's police is just a branch of the IRGC." Since 1992, every single commander of Iran's national police force has come from the Revolutionary Guards — Seifollahi, Lotfian, Esmail Moghaddam, Ghalibaf, and those after them. The only exception was the very first one, Sohrabi, who came from the Gendarmerie. The conclusion is unavoidable: the IRGC swallowed the police. The Basij is another branch of the same body. Different names, one command structure. This clip breaks down the pillars holding up the Islamic Republic — state broadcasting as the propaganda machine, the IRGC as the armed fist — the same structure that carried out the crackdowns of 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2025.
