Keeper of the deterrent. Majid Mousavi spent sixteen years as deputy of Iran's missile force and took its command the day after Israel killed Hajizadeh; when the February decapitation came, the reply was his: some 35 ballistic missiles at Israel and strikes on US bases in six countries. In March, per Iran International, anonymous senior IRGC officials accused him of abandoning the battlefield and falsifying launch figures: an unprecedented wartime knife against a serving commander. He survived it. In May his missiles were locked on the enemy, awaiting the firing order, while his own government negotiated; at the funeral in July he promised hard, unexpected blows that will not end.
